theater major?

Question:I will soon complete my two year degree and I am currently looking at schools I can transfer to. I use to dance, but stopped, and wish to start it up again. Even though I want to be a psychology major, I also want to pursue dance.
I am just wondering why most schools require an audition for this.

Because schools don't want to waste their time and effort on someone who is in it for a hobby; they want to train people who are going to use their skills professionally. Otherwise you'd have dance classes at university that were as full as first-year psych and it would be impossible to call it any kind of cohesive program.
