Position:Home>Performing Arts> Buying an acoustic guitar. . .?Question:I have been playing my brothers electric guitar for about a year now, but I really want an acoustic guitar because I like "acousticifying" my favorite rock songs. I have no idea how to buy an acoustic guitar, what some good brands are, or even if I should get a acoustic or an acoustic/electric guitar! The highest price my parents are willing to pay is probably around $300. I am probably going to get a used one because you can get a lot nicer used guitar for $300 than you can get a new one. So any help with buying an acoustic guitar will be appreciated! ANd you can get a nice one in the $200 - $300 range! New, and good quality. I have played Alvarez guitars for over 20 years and am well satisfied. I use Ovation electro-acoustics for performing, but I don't know what they cost in the States. The Ovation Applause budget range are good. Otherwise, my wife uses a Tanglewood, and that is good too. Other friends use Takamine. Hope this helps. |
