Position:Home>Performing Arts> Who has tried out a flute through Flute World?

Question:I need a new intermediate flute and I was wondering if anyone has tried out then purchased a flute through Flute World.

Also - if you have a Pearl, please leave comments about those.
If you have a Yamaha that is included in or higher than the 400 series, please leave notes about those.

Thanks! :)

I've tried flutes from Flute World every year that I'm at the Nat'l Flute Association Convention. They are a VERY good dealer to work with...they carry all sorts of flutes from beginner through professional models , flute related "extras" (books, music bags, cases, etc) and have the best selection of repretory that I've personally ever seen. I know that they will do a trial period for their instruments if you use a credit card, etc. Most, if not all of the workers for Flute World are flutists themselves, so they have a vast knowledge about the instrument.

In terms of Pearl instruments themselves, I have never owned one. But from what I've tried, I found them to be good instruments for the price. My only beef is that they seem to be on the sharp side of tuning, but that could just be how I played them. They would definitely beat out some of the other brands (Gemeinhardt, Armstrong, etc). I haven't owned a Yamaha 400 series or above, but my experience from those who play one seems to be that they have a darker sound. I personally haven't been that impressed by them in terms of sound or feel, but if you're considering in buying one, you should try it out for yourself. Or if you're looking at these instruments for a student, have your student try them out.

Good luck!
