Position:Home>Performing Arts> Is it okay to buy a drum set on eBay?

Question:I've found great prices but I'm wondering if the quality would be good. I have never played drums. I'm going to use the ones I get from eBay to experiment and try and learn to play them.

I guess so. I bought a DDRUM popcorn snare off Ebay earlier this year. I was very happy with it. I paid $110 for it with shipping. Honestly, you have a couple of good options here to look over in your case.

1. Buy a real NEW drum kit off www.guitarcenter.com for $200 called Sound Percussion.

2. Check your local thrift stores or even pawn shops too like the Salvation Army Store in your town. I saw a little used 4 piece drum kit at my local Salavtion Army store last week for like $150. It was all jacked up. But still. they had it right there!!

3. Check your local newspaper classifed ads too. Look in the "Musical instruments" section of it. I saw another used drum kit today for like $300 complete with paiste cymbals.

So, you really don't need to buy a drum kit off Ebay to learn how to play drums. I'm a drummer of 20 years. Trsut me, dude! These are more money saving options for you since you are beginner. You dont want to go out and blow $500 on a drum kit and then come to find out that you hate playing drums after you've bought it. That's not smart. These are really goos options before you try it out. You can also go to your local music store in your town like a Guitar Center and practice there. They allow you to try them out with Demo drum sticks and play right there on the drum kits for like 5 mins. All you do is your ask the drum salesman at the drum dept. counter. Good luck

Check every link on this item page and read and see if there is a picture of it,that is check the condition of the item,I have bought several items on eBay and never had a problem, but not a drum set............

only from the sellers with a lot of positive stars and comments, the others you need to be wary....

Check out their previous sales first, and make sure that you can return it in thirty days.....I once saw this on court TV, a women bought a cell phone, and what she got was a picture of a cell phone, not kidding !!!!!! Drums I'm not too familiar with, but I would never buy anything like a guitar on eBay, I'd want to hear and play it first, I always advise people not to buy musical instruments unless you can play them first !!!!!!!
