Position:Home>Performing Arts> D'Addario strings...?

Question:are they any good? I'm just curious, because even though i'm going to go try out this Ibanez electro-acoustic, this guy told me that his ibanez was "going to be perfect as soon as I change those awful D'Addario strings".
But they're the most popular brand of strings so they can't be that bad.. i am just too confused!

somebody please tell me if they are any good or crap, ..even though i am going to try them out...but ignore that fact, i'm just curious

*i think i went on a little too much*

Strings are about 80 percent personal preference and 20 of substance, if you are comfortable with them then don't worry about what others say.

D'Addario are awesome. Either he was trying to sound like a badass or your strings are just worn (slide your thumb and index finger on the string, if you get black marks, the strings need to be changed).

I.LIKE.THEM...ONLY.USE.THEM.ON.MY.GUITAR...

D'Addario, GHS, and Martin are all good - get "Phosphor -bronze lights" not "80-20" or "bronze". That could be what was on the guitar.

always go with Elixir strings.... the are the best out there PERIOD

D'Addario makes good strings. Maybe the strings on the guy's Ibanez are awful because they're old and dead and need to be replaced.

for acoustic i wil put nothign but elixers on my acoustic guitars
my electric is GHS boomers

they're good acoustic strings

When it comes to strings, it's really a matter of preference. A lot of people like Elixirs for acoustic strings, but I personally don't. They're expensive and the one time I used them, they broke on me right away.

I use D'Addarios on everything--my acoustics and my electrics. I like the sound, I've never had a problem with them breaking (without a good reason, anyway), and they don't cost an arm and two legs either.

That, however, is my opinion. Some people say D'Addario sucks, other people will swear by their products. That's just the way it goes. I don't necessarily know that there is any "best brand" of guitar strings, but everyone has their favorites, depending on the sound they want.
