Ok. There are a couple factors you want to consider.
First, get lessons, this will make everything much easier. 2.) Go for an accustic. I know we all want to be rock stars, but truth is, accoustics have the strings further away from the neck, thus making it a little harder to play, but it strengthens your fingers and develops good technique. If you can play accoustic, you can play it all. 3.) As a beginner you don't want a really expensive guitar, but you don't want a cheap one either. The cheap low end ones you find in department stores are pretty much toys. They don't tune well, they warp, and other bad things happen. It is important to be able to have a good sound. If your guitar sounds yucky you won't want to play as much, or think it is you when it isn't. But there is no reason to get a $500 guitar either. When buying an instrument it is always best to get it in person, and make sure you go to a music store to get it... not Wal*mart! (I think if it says "First Act" you should stay away from it.)

You could check out this ebay store too. I think they do very good bussiness.

vintange ivory peral or violet

DO NOT get the butterfly it may b really cheap

The 3rd one. It is more practical and less pink and cheesy. It's like getting a car, you want one that you can bare to look at after a while not just one that suit the moment.
