I'm interested to know if there are any new Irish Folk bands playing Dubline

Question:Best New Irish Folk band I have seen are Chris Kavanagh and The Patriots (aka legend of Luke Kelly.) They are apparantly recording an album of their own songs but they also perform a Tribute show to Luke Kelly the singer of The Dubliners who dies in the 1980's. They have the banjo, guitars, pipes and whistles etc. Nobody can touch them as far as real Irish Folk songs are concerned.

While The Dubliners and The Fureys are still great bands there are few bands of that ilk that are of high quality. I tend to agree with the first answer. Legend of Luke Kelly are a quality band. For other young Irish folk bands, you'd be looking at the likes of Lunasa(who are an instrumental band).

There's a band with a CD on cdbaby.com called Wake the Bard that's great too.
