Question:1. Do alot of reading and writing.
2. dont worry about writing bads songs.
3. Keep at it and dont give up.
4. Keep your verses tight, and in time
5. Build a solid song structure by adding bridges, choruses and harmonies
6. You do have to rhyme because it sounds sweeter on the ears. Remember songs are about pleasing the ears, not the eyes.
7. Read the dictionary and thesaurus too to help expand and build your vocabulary too. Words are very powerful and do have a purpose and you have be careful what you say in your songs.
8. Writing songs and writing poetry are very close. Except one (songs) is set to music along with the words.
9. Try different style of writing too.
10. Study other lyricisst and their song structures to get an idea of various writing styles. The goal is have your own , unique style in writing songs
11. Write about things that you really believe in. Songs are meant to be sung with conviction and heart.
12. Golden rule in making music : "If it sounds right, play it".

well think of how you feel right now
you start writing the verse 1
then chorus
then bridge
the chorus is a part that repeats after every verse
and is the same throught the whole song
the bridge is kinda like the chorus but tells about that story
differently it is also the same through
then at the end make it different

put yourself in different atmospheres, this can strike up different moods, different perspectives, ideas.

then just start free writing about anything, about stuff you see, about your life, smells, anything that pops into your head. Then read what you wrote and something might grab at you to use.

1. You dont always have to rhyme.
2. Use phrases that you say everyday, they seem more genuine.
3. Dont force it...people can pick up on forced sounds.
4. Know the tempo or melody of the song before you get too far into writing it.. it helps the flow of words if you know how they are going to be sung.
5. Dont write for anyone but yourself.
6. Write something when your super -pi ssed off. All that emotion makes for a killer song..
7. Look for inspiration everywhere...listen to others talk for lines that could possibly become a great hook..

Tips For writing a song?
well.
1. make it complex. dont write a song about how fun it was at the grocery store.
2. give it feeling. dont sing something you dont deeply believe in.
and thats all right now.

Always remember that the lines of a song has syllables like words do. EXAMPLE :

We be--came friends at first, we walk for a while.
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11

Hand in hand , we turn to each oth--er and smile.
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11

The words don't need to rhyme in the end of the each line.
Write with your heart and not with your head. To be able to use great insight is key in writing songs. One must look outside of the box.
