Position:Home>Performing Arts> Fender Squier or Starcaster Electric Guitar for Beginner?

Question:I want to learn how to play the guitar without any musical knowledge. I was wondering if the Squier handle is smaller aimed for young kids? Anyway which would be better for me as a beginner? the price is the same.

Guitars are highly idiosyncratic; one man's sweet instrument is another woman's piece of garbage.

I recommend that you go to a good guitar store and try out these and other models that look good to you. Find the "feel" of each one yourself--have a sales clerk plug you into an amp and try fingering and plucking notes--even if you're not very good you'll get a sense of whether your fingers fall nicely on that guitar's fingerboard.

Note that the most important things affecting the sound of an electric guitarist are: (1) amp speaker (2) effects (3) pick-ups.

As a beginner, I want to urge you to get at least a dozen or so lessons from a good teacher to start. Too many self-taught guitarists learn wrong, and they wind up with repetitive motion injuries rather often--I had a good friend who had surgery on both wrists last summer. Get a good teacher to get your finger and wrist position right at the outset.

Also, know that for a beginner, many short practices yield much faster progress than one longer one.

For starters any of the two will suffice. When you get some practice under you and improve then you'll probably want to move on to something else.

I wouldn't extend myself too far if you are just beginning. Besides you might not like it.

I'd say which ever one felt good in your hands....is the action better on one then the other, which sound do YOU like best...don't go by what someone else thinks...go for what you like best.....Important !!!!!!!! Make sure that you play this guitar before you buy it, that's what really counts !!!!!!!

Go with the Fender Squire because Fender is the more popular name in guitars. Thye made the Squires because of cost, and it's for beginners too. Good luck
