They may look cool but........I hate the sound of the cheap guitars....the frets are never right....the bridge is always off, if you going to buy an inexpensive guitar your going to have to play it first to make sure that there are no buzzes, weird sounds, etc. I never advise my students to start with an electric, they don't sound well unless you know how to play them....many a student has come back to me and said, " I'm sorry that I didn't listen"....they want to play my acoustic.....why not wait and ask for Christmas a better acoustic guitar....there great to start with and sound a lot better....You can get a nice Yamaha acoustic for about $200.00 at the Guitar Center....go and try them....and see what you think....most kids starting out have no idea how hard it is to play guitar.... I have one in my family right now who wants to know how to learn faster....there is no way.... it's a slow practice....nothing comes easy,....it takes daily practice and a lot of patience....as you'll soon see....and when you get that electric remember what I've said about the acoustic......they sound so much better when your learning.....good luck to you !!!!!!!!!!!!! P.S. I do remember what it's like to be your age....it's all about the looks....well you live and learn....it's not always the looks that sounds the best !!!!!!!

Without actually playing it, I can't say for sure, but Fender makes some really decent beginner electric guitars and the price is very good on that one. It's probably the best guitar you're going to find at that price.

That is a GREAT guitar for a beginner. Fenders are awesome. Good luck!

The Fender can be adjusted to get rid of any buzz or incorrect pitch. Also, an electric is Waaaaay easier to play for a long time then an accoustic if you are a beginner. Also I would add that you will not stay with that ax if you really get into playing so you should buy the adjustable Fender and see if you even want to keep playing first. That way you didn't spend a lot just to find out.
For a beginner, as long as it plays easy and stays in tune, that is all you need right now.
