Yes, there is a definite "high" that comes after playing and the energy that is exchanged between the performer and the audience. The Buzz has lasted up to a number of days in my case, depending on the performance. The music (the sound vibration) affects the human body, mind and spirit. And just like there is a high, there is often a low that comes afterwards. I used to get really sad after the high but after talking to other performing artists, I no longer interpret the aftermath as a "low" but rather as "an emptying out" and then go about replenishing myself by taking-in things that nurture the creative root: rest, films, writing, cooking, nature. . .whatever does it for you that is life-affirming. I think the only caution I would offer is to try to keep a sense of balance -that ego thing can be a real bummer in the end if you get confused and think that this is all it's about- and not get so hooked on the high that you forget why you are making or loving the music to begin with. Thats' my 2 cents! Have a great gig!!

Its true and for those of us lucky enough to have performed in live gigs, there is a buzz from even the lamest of gigs. The buzz from a totally going off gig leaves lasting memories and a kind of "walking on water" sense.

Hope you continue to get "high"

Its a great feeling to play for an appreciative crowd!

I've done it both as a solo act (voice & guitar) and as part of a band. The "high" is more intense when I play solo -- but I get noticeably more nervous when I'm onstage solo than I do with a band, so I must admit I prefer the support of having others around me on stage.

Either way, it makes all the individual practicing and band rehearsals SO worthwhile........

I enjoy playing in a band and the group feel. And playing for a good audience is always great. I enjoy sharing my music with others and be recognized for the effort and talents.

Oh yes! I get that all the time. After playing a great performance, i'm ready to just keep on playing until i can't play no more! I'm a lot more outgoing after playing music live for people, I start talking to people more and flirting with boys who are curious (because I'm the only girl in the band). It's totally awesome. Totally insane, man. Totally. I know how you feel. ;)
