I'm an orchestra director and several of my students are going through the same thing. Don't give up! I tell them to make flashcards where you draw the note on the staff on one side and the note name on the other.

Another great practice helper is Smartmusic. Ask your band director about it. You can buy it online at www.smartmusic.com

practice practice practice...once u do it enough u won't even think about it cuz it becomes muscle memory and ur fingers will automatically assume the fingering when they see the notes

Practice. There is no magic fix or short cut. If that were the case, than everybody could be a musical prodigy.
