The Christmas songs are a good idea! They're fairly easy to play and you can put some feeling into them.

When I think of saxophone, two or three numbers come immediately to mind. One is 'Round Midnight. It must have been written for piano but it just doesn't sound right except on the sax. Another is Harlem Nocturne. Those two tunes are delicious even to people who don't know anything about jazz, or who didn't think they'd like it. If you don't have a pianist to accompany you, you could use a PC or laptop with a MIDI arrangement for backup (easy to find on the Net)

It is the holiday season. Go with a medley of christmas stuff. Use the touching songs, they are better with sax and slow them down a little. Trust me , give it a try
