Learning how to drum...?

Question:when learning how to play the drums, is it better to get a teacher/instructor, or just learn by yourself, or maybe use a program/dvd.

idk. i learned guitar by myself and i would say that im good. but i dont know much about drumming. try learning by yourself at first, and if you cant figure it out, take lessons. ya know, just so you can learn the basics, then you should be able to start figuring stuff out on your own.
