Question:Hey guys. I have played the piano for an upwards of 8 years now and my understanding of music theory is very advanced. However, I know nothing about playing the violin. What would be the hardest part for me to learn if I understand music already? Thank you :)

Violin is a beautiful instrument. If you've played piano and know how to read treble clef, you'll find it much easier to play the violin than say a beginner. Also your experience with rhythms and beats will help tremendously so the hardest part will indeed be the placement of your fingers. The violin is such an easy instrument to be out of tune on. You can put tape on the fingerboard to memorize the note posititions and then once you have muscle memory of the notes, you will be able to play really well.

hardewst part woul dbe to find the exact spot on where the note is

Probably the hardest part of playing the violin is learing where to put your fingers on the strings to create different notes. My teacher, when I was learning to play in grade school, put pieces of tape underneath the strings to show me where to put my fingers.
