it did for me because i couldn't breath as much and my mouth got dry and made my flute sound flat.

no, the flute music come from your mouth

Yea, it probably will. My sister plays the flute and she sounds bad wit a stuffy nose

I played flute and piccolo in middle school, and having a cold/stuffy nose never affected my playing.

i would think the air speed you generate would be different, but you could correct the tone once you hear it

just dont blow snot everywhere

no i play the saxaphone.. do you play with your mouth?

My friend plays the flute and she said that it caused her to not be able to get enough air through the flute. So yes, I would think so.

Yes it could. You are connected ears, nose and mouth. It could effect your breathing.

It will mostly be uncomfortable to have a stuffy nose and play at the same time. It shouldnt have much effect on your playing unless your nose is dripping... Hope that helped. GOOD LUCK. You should clean your headjoint after playing so you dont re-infect yourself though.

Since you breathe through your mouth when you play the flute, a stuffy nose doesn't affect your playing ability -- just try to keep from playing when you nose is runny and sn---y.

It could affect your breathing pattern and you might find yourself taking more breathes between phrases in a piece. It shouldn't affect your tone, though. The actual air you are using is coming through your mouth not your nose. Besides cutting your phrasing.... I don't see any other risks.

I agree with the guy above. It shouldn't if you can breathe okay. You may have to take more breaths to accomodate your sound if you can't breathe out of your nose. There's a slight chance your tone could be a little weak or airy, but it's only temporary. Feel better.

It depends on the person, and how stuffy their nose is. Yes, you play through your mouth, but when most ppl have a stuffy nose they have to breathe through their mouth. Some ppls lips get chapped majing it even harder. It should only affect how many times you need to breathe and your tuning.

It won't if you play properly. If you don't (like if you breathe through your nose instead of your corners) it will make it tricky to play and phrase properly. But if you have a bad enough cold your level of playing will lower a bit from just not feeling well.

it shouldn't affect your playing or your sound, you will just need to take more frequent breaths. the sound does not come from your nose, it comes from your mouth. if a stuffy nose is really a problem for you, try taking a temporary decongestant and see if it helps you play better

best of luck

It depends on where you breathe from. Most players breathe with their mouth. It would only effect your playing if you breathe with your nose
