Guitar Help (sweeps)?

Question:Ok I have been playing for awhile
and sweeps seem to give me trouble

Its like
I can play sweeps
but to play them perfectly i have to have been playing and practicing for aleast an hour before

Why cant i just pick up a guitar and do sweeps
why do i have to warm up for so long until i can do them

That's true with everybody - any fast, precise movement takes warming up. All the pros warm up for 20 -30 minutes before they perform. Steve Vai does a whole hour warm up routine.
