Question:These two videos are of the same girl.

In the first video, she really belts a lot and has a typical musical theatre voice.
And in the second video, her voice is more of a soprano. It sounds like she is singing more classical style, than musical theatre.

Is it really possible to sing in two different styles like that?
I have been singing for 2 years, and my voice sounds like her voice in the second video.
Is it possibly for me to have a big belting voice like she has in the firs video?

Sorry if this question sounds stupid.
Can you please help me out?
Thanks!

I'm not loving her voice, but to answer your question, it is possible to sing different styles.

I wanted to learn how to sing, so I searched for singing lessons. I found an opera teacher who also happened to teach "anybody's" like me. I wanted to sing the blues, by the way.

Basically, what I learned was technique. She taught me ways to control breathing, build stamina and tone, and increase my range. There were times in lessons where the sound from my body sounded like some kind of an opera singer. (technique is an amazing thing, I couldn't hear the piano 2-ft from my head)

If I had the desire to apply my technique to opera, I was developing the tools to do so. I would've had to learn languages/pronunciation, as well as acting/stage presence. . .etc. that goes with opera.

Since I wanted to sing blues, I applied the strength and tone to the pronunciations and sounds that fit within the blues. I don't sound like a "classically trained" singer. I sound like a blues singer because of how I APPLIED the training.

Build the basic fundamental techniques of strong voice, then apply them in context to the music as appropriate.

For you specifically, start singing along to the kind of music you like. Imitate. Rough-up the edges a bit, contract your words. . . do what they do in the music you like. Just use your good technique as support so you don't do any damage. Also, find ways to sing in public (even karaoke...) to keep developing your style. Stage experience really helps.

to me, if you just apply your character and acting to the second vid, u will have the first
