Question:My guitar has this obnoxiously thick fretboard and the frets are so wide!
And let's face it, i'm done growing.
I am thinking about buying a new guitar (acoustic electric, rock on) so any suggestions? Any brands or makes that would have smaller boards for my wee little hands?

Thanks!

Most frets on a guitar are standard....except for the classical guitar... The best way to buy a guitar is to go to a reputable guitar store and play all the ones that are in your price range....finger size doesn't matter...one of the oldest and most famous of all was Segovia....check him out on youtube....and he had what I called little fat sausage fingers and he was one of the worlds best...it's not the size that matters but how you use them....if you play correctly , the thumb behind the fingerboard and your fingers perpendicular to the strings you should be able to reach all the necessary stings. So when you go to buy a new one plan to spend hours in a store and play until you find the one that suites you in....action and sound. I wish you would have said what brand of guitar that you had, acoustic, electric, because most spaces between the frets are like I said earlier are standard.....maybe you'd do better with a thinner neck, try that out, good luck to wee little hands...that made me laugh, how cute !!!!!!!!

JUST ASKED A FRIEND OF MINE WHO PLAYS BASS
AND HE SAID TO CK FENDER FOR A 3/4 NECK.JUST MIGHT BE YOUR SIZE

Acoustics have become pretty standard at around 1 3/4 at the nut. Alvarez, Washburn, Takamine are all good choices at the $300 - 600 range.

Check Daisy Guitars. The company was started by a woman and they build instruments for women and girls. They also feature a line of short scale guitars for smaller hands.
