Girls have gradually been getting more and more respect in every area of many professions, including music. Four of 8 the Ivy League colleges have a girl (woman) for president, and the list goes on and on. Take "lominion"in music too - and on the drumline - Lominion is a word coined from "loving dominion" sort of like "web + log = blog."

I think it's awesome, a lot of girls at my high school were on our drumline. I say go for it, girls can do anything that boys can!

I don't care about anything regarding drumlines except can the people play ferociously and march properly at the same time.

yes! no! girls are the best on snare because they are gentle and instead of just pounding on drums they have rhythm and sense because their heart is in the beat, they also usually have an easier time falling in love with the song. guys are too temperamental and play badly if they had a bad day or something. now, don't get me wrong, there ARE exceptions to this, but that is what i see most often.

I think it's good to have a couple of girls in the drumline. As a matter of fact, there's one in my band. She's first bass. I wanted to go out for the drumline, but my instructor wants me to remain in the front ensemble, cause he needs someone with my level of mallet skills in there.
I think that there should be more girls on the line, cause boys tend to be more prone to tantrums and fights. Girls are more gentle with their instruments and can also stand to do something without arguing to much. Not to get me wrong or anything. It could just as well be the opposite somewhere else with boys and girls, but down here in Tennessee, it's not happening.

I think that it's cool for girls to be on drumline. I am the only girl on my schools line (there are 15 total members) and it is a lot of fun. The guys need someone to keep them in line. The drum you play should be determined by ability not gender. If a girl is really good on the tenors that she should play the tenors, but if she is better on snare than she should play the snare.
