Well it really depends on your personal prefrence, what you want from an instrument. If you want to carry your skills into a band, orchestra, marching band, or if you just want to play at home for yourself.
I am partial to the deeper toned instruments.
There is the clarinet/ bass clarinet (though it is a woodwind)
A for as brass, you have:
Trumpet ( valved instrument - though it is more popular)
Saxophone (alto, tenor, and i do beleive they have a 'bass' version this is also a valved instrument - the most similar to the oboe as far as positioning and fingering)
Tuba (valved instrument - very large and deeper sounded, not much you can play without a full band, also rarer it marching/concert bands)
baritone (valves instrument)
Trombone (slide instrument - extremely difficult to learn, and not usually found in marching bands, or some concert bands, but can be played in jazz bands, and ska bands.)
with most brass instruments you can get a larger range of notes then with woodwinds with just changing the tention of your lips.

hope this helps.

let it be violin!

Accordion. see also Bagpipes.

Piano!!!!!!!!!! i alway give people good advice!!! there also have a lot of type of piano to learn

Bag pipes

Okay then, let's learn harp. It's a very good plucking lesson then...

The French Horn! That's what I play, and it's awesome!!! It will take some work and practice, but it is a very fun instrument to play. Good luck and happy playing!

you could always go with another double reed instrument like basoon or english horn- even one that doesnt have a reed like french horn.

i think its cool that u play oboe, i want to learn, but dont know where to get my hands on one that isn't exactly new and expensive

chineses pipes maybe, or flute is excellent or clarinet !

Why not the Sax, I think that's a great instrument, have you ever heard of a guy by the name of Kirk Whalum, he has a Cd out called, "For You", cut # 4 is great !!!!!! he plays it with the guitarist Paul White....what a song, I could listen to that all day, I play classical guitar....I'm a string person....but when I first heard this song it turned me on to the Sax !!!!!!!!! Try to see if they have this on youtube....and see what you think !!!!!
