Position:Home>Performing Arts> How do you fix unfair judging at show choir competitions?

Question:Like this weekend at Central Crossing HS near Columbus, OH, some choirs won awards or were put into finals for unfair reasons, like having a past choreographer of a group be a judge. I would like to know why this occurs, and how people can fix the problem.

You need to have more judes watching the competition separated throughout the auditorium.

Then there can be an avarage of points between the judges or all the points can be colaborated:
(number recieved)/(number of points possible)

And the points recieved determine the place.

+Not all judges will be unfair if they are seapated form people and really eachother.

That should fix the problem.

unfortunately, you can't. to compare is human nature. if you go on after a choir that is even the slightest bit better than you, it will make your score not so great.

the name has a lot to do with it as well. i came from a band that had a bad name.. thus we got not so great ratings, even though we were pretty damn good.

You can't, this has went on since the beginning of time....nothing in this world is fair...someone has to win...and it's not always the one that you think should have...I've seen this in many a competitions. What is really unfair is that you can't do a thing about it....sorry !!!!!!

kill.
