I want to learn guitar?

Question:I have a personal teacher but he sucks..All he thought was 10 chords(he gave me pictures of the chords,thats all) So,i want to learn myself.What should i start with...And ummm i loved a song called Beast and the Harlot and can play part of it and the solo but it makes me sweat.Oh yeah,and what's a dive bomb?

Well the thing is if u are just starting out you can't just jump into The Beast and the Harlot. You have to learn some boring things like basic chords..thats why your teach gave you a chord book. I would probaly do the same if I was your teacher and I would probaly teach you a couple Sabbath riffs. Son't skip on fundementals or you'll regret it later. Make sure you can play decent rhythm before you start sweep picking like every kid is doing nowdays. In five years that shred stuff is going to be extremely out and overplayed.

A dive bomb is when you hit a note or chord then slowly mash your whammy bar all the way to the guitars body, simulating the sound of a dive bomber.

Edit: Gibson guitars may be super nice, and super expensive but they don't make one you can do a dive bomb on. The dive bomb was invented by musicians playing the Fender Stratocaster.

Once you learn how to read tablature then you'll be away, you can do that online, google 'how to read tablature'. Then teach yourself songs by either buying tab books or printing off from ultimate guitar or 911 tabs.com.

get another teacher teaching ur self takes time but my friends bro tought himself and he can do lots of songs and he rites some himself
