Position:Home>Performing Arts> How to sell amateur comedy clips?

Question:I am a film student and I have the resources and people to make (write, perform and film) small comedic skits, but we don't know how to sell them. The internet of course seems like the ideal place to put the clips but we really have no idea about how to make money from it. Any ideas?
P.S. this is in the Vancouver area if it makes a difference

This is old-fashioned thinking. You don't want to sell your work directly. Put them on Youtube for free. Build a following. Design your own website and reference it at the end of your videos and also in the video descriptions. Offer an option to view your movies in higher quality on your website. If you're truly funny, you'll build fans. Get on myspace too. On your website you can put Google ads for some revenue, and eventually if you get really popular you can sell merchandise (shirts especially). Like I said, if you're good, and funny, your popularity can snowball into something huge.

Some examples of Youtube celebrities who started small and got big:

Lisa Nova: http://www.youtube.com/user/LisaNova

And many more. It takes time and patience though. It won't happen overnight.
