Electric guitar. I am a music major right now, and to major in classical guitar, you need to have been playing for at least 4 year's (that mean's practicing at least 2 hours a day) and sight read music like the devil himself. Electric guitar players are expected to play chord's mainly in bands (mainly jazz bands) and their reading skills are not required to be as good, but they still have to be pretty tight. If you want to go performance, go with what you love and practice like a maniac. If your going what is easier, go electric.

Electric. Classical is very inovative. Ya can't deny that . Look a Sugovia. 4.000 at one concrert. No Amp's. Get that into ya.

Electric guitars are much easier to play. The string tension on electrics is much less than on an acoustic. That means it's easier to fret and pick. The action of electrics are lower, too (meaning the strings lie closer to the fretboard, making it play 'faster').

The necks are just really easy to play. Also, majoring in acoustic guitar would mean learning 2,000 years of ancient tradition - whilst the electric guitar is relatively new.
