Majoring Electric guitar?

Question:is it possible for a person to major electric guitar 2 years before university if he practice 6- 10 hours a day? and if knows what he needs to do. I mean there is SOO many people who plays electric guitar so good!

.If you mean MASTER the electric guitar.Then I would say that when someone says they've mastered the electric guitar,Then often they become obsolete.

But it is possible to get very good in 2 years.You must dedicate yourself to a focused practice schedule.If you are serious,get the Fretboard Logic book series,Try to find anything with Steve Vai's playing techniques described.Learn more than just one song,in one style of music.Practice scales and modes daily,learn a new chord/voicing/or polychord,every week.Subscribe to Guitar One magazine,and do the lessons.Take guitar lessons.

And finally learn to listen to other guitar players and picture in your mind how they are playing their parts,and how the song is constucted including the role of the guitar part,and its timing.Best of luck to you and when you start don't get discouraged and put it down,lest you never even come close to mastering the guitar.Peace

it depends in what you mean, if you want to play like petrucci or pat Martino it's not possible but if you want to play like slash of course you can, even with less practice hours
