Position:Home>Performing Arts> What talents are out there that are both entertaining and short in length?

Question:My school is holding a talent show (high school level) and I was pretty sure I would play the piano, but my song seems somewhat dull and my school has many talented musicians. Can you give me any act that's quick yet entertaining? I know singings out there (my voice sucks) along with dancing (not my thing), magic (too geeky--no offense), reciting monologues (boring), comedy acts (too risky); but what else is there or should I just improve my song or choose another? The act must be under 2 minutes so that's what's ruining many pieces I can play. Suggestions/help appreciated!

I think piano would be great to hear for a talent show. You may call it dull, but its possible that other people would love it. Think of it this way, as long as you enjoy yourself even if you don't win you still tried your best and give yourself props for being able to play the piano in front of many people. If you are not feeling the song that your going to play on the piano, then don't switch it up, make it really good for 2 mintues. Make the audience feel that you tried hard and you deserve this! Good Luck!

well you don't leave much. do you juggle?

If you twirled baton you could come up with an impressive 2 minute routine. Ooh, or fire baton (I twirled fire for my school during the football seasons. fun, and they loved it). But you really don't leave many options. You should either improve your piece, or maybe find a song that you can kinda sing and play piano and sing at the same time.

you could try singing and playing imagine by john lennon or mabye you could see if someone will sing the song and you can play it for them. i think that song is fairly short.

Anything with fire (poi, juggling, staff, baton)
or any of without fire, i suppose... it's just not as flashy...
If juggling, maybe a routine?
