Position:Home>Performing Arts> What is a good song to sing when auditioning for Into the Woods?

Question:Ok, my local civic theatre is doing Into the Woods for their play for teenagers this fall. I'm 16 and I'd like to audition for the part of the baker's wife, but I'm having trouble coming up with a good song to sing. Any suggestions?

Sing something else by Sondheim but not from the show itself. Try "Move On" from Sunday in the Park With George or "Children and Art" from the same show. They are Baker Wife-ish and show that you've done your homework. Good luck! (I was Prince Charming / Wolf in our local production and won Best Supporting Actor for it)

'Children Will Listen' and 'Lament' are both from Into The Woods.

Or 'On My Own' from Les Miserables.

Or 'Somewhere' from West Side Story.

Or 'Good Morning Baltimore' and 'I Can Hear The Bells' from Hairspray.
