Question:I know about the effect of the mouthpiece, but my sax keeps slipping out of tune all the time!

My teacher says I need to get a stronger reed (I'm on 2 at the moment and admit I could do with more). I'm going to try this, but in the meantime, anyone have any other suggestions as to what it might be?

Reasonable suggestions for problem/solution please, if any at all! Cheers

For a quick fix, there isn't much. It just takes the time of learning to listen to the instrument and your intonation, to play it correctly, and to learn to adjust for intonation. Get a private lesson teacher if you don't have one. You may be making adjustments to your embouchure, jaw, tongue, and/or throat (or any combination) that changes the intonation, and we can't tell that on here. A teacher who sits and listens and watches you play can diagnose if you are making changes you are unaware of and stop that action.

the weather atm is probably not helpin. Try a harder reed and maybe practice a bit more.
