I'm looking into getting an ocarina, where do I start?

Question:I play the violin, so choosing a wind instrument for me is new. I have no idea where to start.

I want one that will play a wide range of notes so I can play almost any song...

I've been looking at the sweet potato ones aswell as the mountain ocarinas.

Does any one have any suggestions??

When I was a child, Ocarinas were novelty items and could be picked up for anywhere from five cents to at the most, a couple of dollars. Now it seems they are high art and command respectable prices, not unlike the pennywhistle that should now be called the twenty dollar flute (LOL)

There are a few sources below. I have dealt with Lark in the Morning, but do not know much about the others.
