You're starting to get into concert/symphonic sizes there - 24" is considered huge for a drumset bass. At 30" you would need to have a custom beater made to get to the center of the drum, plus a very large head in order to pull out any kind of sound. Plus, the problems with finding heads, as mentioned above. I use a 26" for symphonic playing and the heads were a special order, plus I have to use a huge mallet to get a sound, and tuning is always a nightmare! So, I guess as a halfway annswer - yeah, you could do it, but are you really sure you want to?

it is been a long time since i do not see a bass drum that big..
Nowadays the common sizes are 22 or even 20 inches........i hope you have luck finding what you want,

You set yourself a tough assignment. One of the few companies that actually has a drumset 26" kick drum in regular production is Yamaha; the BD926YJ, a birch 26"x14", is in the Recording Custom (RY900) series. Of course, Drum Workshop can build bass drums up to 28" on a custom-order basis and match production shells for the other positions thereto, a DW exclusive service for the Collectors' Series--but you may already know about that from DW's Pacific Drums and Percussion division.

One complication whereover I should advise you: Drumset kick batters and resonants are infrequent in the 26" size and almost impossible for 28" due to the lack of support for drumset applications. 28" is actually a standard diameter for concert and marching bass drums; but a relatively undamped 1.0-mil head is best used, in my experience, for concert band and traditional jazz, not being quite strong enough for heavy rock. You might want to check out Remo's selection of Weather King bass drum heads for the diameters you intend to use.
