Position:Home>Performing Arts> Songs for Thespian Competition?

Question:have a very wide vocal range, from low alto to high soprano, and can pretty much sing any style but belt. It needs to be a female solo from a broadway musical. I prefer sad songs and am able to convey emotion very well. Anyone have any ideas? I've come up with these so far:

1. Tell Me On A Sunday (from Tell Me On A Sunday)
2. Another Suitcase in Another Hall (Evita)
3. You Must Love Me (Evita)
4. On My Own (Les Misarables)
5. Now That I've Seen Her (Miss Saigon)
6. No Good Deed (Wicked)
7. There Are Worse Things I Could Do (Grease)

Plz tell me what you think of these/any other ideas for songs to do. Thanks!

you sound very talented. I love #7 from your selection.

Being a Stephen Sondheim fanatic, and since you don't have any of his tunes listed, here are a couple of my favorites:

"Not A Day Goes By" from Merrily We Roll Along
"Its the Last Midnight" from Into the Woods
"I Remember" from Evening Primrose
"Down By the Sea" "Worst Pies in London" from Sweeny Todd

another couple "New Life" from Jekyll and Hyde, or "As If We Never Said Goodbye" from Sunset Blvd. These all should fit well into your comfortable range- best of luck!
