It is a very loud, high energy, blasts of flame, laser light show and great experience.

If she can handle the loud music, take her. If not, then get her ear plugs and take her.

This year's show is running about 2 hours 50 minutes (according to some reports).

Last year, their first set was their Christmas stuff. Blasting out a strobe laden Wizards in Winter, they proceeded to rock on for over an hour until the intermission. Afterwards, it was a mix of their Beethoven album and other tunes.

Go - If only to hear Queen of the Winter Night.

It’s the most number of lights we’ve ever seen at a concert. They made the entire arena their canvas. Standard bands just have some lights over the stage pointing outward. TSO has 5 laser machines, and more gobos than I care to count. They even had lights on the ceiling all the way out to past the half way point over the floor. They pulled out the stops and incorporated into their show every known hi tech gimmick, including flame throwers that change color, sparks and pinwheels, a scissor jack platform that elevated 2 of the performers 20 feet into the air. In addition, several of the performers had wireless transmitters, which allowed them to walk up into the stands and play right from the crowd, a nice touch.

Not only did they have lights over the stage, they had them behind the stage, and huge fabric matrices of tens of thousands of LED lights behind the lights that were behind the stage! They had LEDs from floor to ceiling and from left side to right side of the stage. Hey, but this is funny, some of their segments were burnt out! Hey even my setup at home is more reliable, and mine plays through he rain!

The lights over the stage were arranged in into I think 10 square pods that spend the entire evening twisting and turning, and forming circles around the band. The lighting texture was incredible, as were the lasers, which were not over done either. IT looked like a giant UFO opening up, very cool effects.

As usual, they used a local group of about a half dozen symphony players. They do this in each city. They had 4 stunning ladies singing, as well as a half dozen guys, and 2 keyboard players. The female keyboard players is married to the lead singer. The other player has a masters from Juilliard. Very top notch players. The band and all the singers and violinists, all played very tight, for a 2 ? hour tour through their catalog. There were a few songs I did not recognize. I was disappointed that they did not sing “Star To Follow”, or “The Three Kings and I (What Really Happened)”, or Emerson Lake & Palmer’s Nutrocker from Pictures at an Exhibition. They usually play that one, why not tonight!

I actually heard them play "Cannon In D" for Christmas. Mate. It's soo beautiful. I love it. It's a great Christmas song and you can find it on YouTube or Itunes.

Oh, I love their version of "Greensleeves"! And, yes, your mom would love it (FYI: I'm in my 30's!)

Not knowing your mother, it's hard to answer. I saw them last Christmas in Vegas. Your mother is more likely to enjoy the first half of the show. It had a strong christmas theme, with a (silly) narrative about a homeless person on the streets on Christmas eve. But they mixed in some nice vocals with some traditional christmas songs and some original.

After intermission, it turned into a regular rock concert. I doubt your mother would like that part. The show has lots of light effect and pyrotechnics, so take that into account.

um... if she's an energetic person and you're about to take her to a concert, make sure she doesn't have ellipsy or is prone to seizures cause theres tons of lights....
