Position:Home>Performing Arts> What is the best guitar in the world acoustic & electric?

Question:You must know this is a "What flavor of ice cream is your favorite?" type question. Or Ford vs Chevy.

In my personal experience (I have owned maybe 20 guitars and have 9 at the moment) I've played hundreds.

Acoustic: Martin. When I play mine, I can just strum chords and people act like they're hearing music from heaven or something. It makes the ordinary sound extraordinary. That's if you prefer sound over playability. If you want the opposite, go with Taylor. They play like an electric right out of the box. Figure $1500.00 to $2000.00.

Electric: I started on Gibson's. I currently have 2, a Les Paul and an SG. But, I have converted to Fender Strats. They have so much more versatility and you can do more subtle things as you get better. They have a better vocabulary and they articulate your playing better. More of you gets through the guitar and out of the speakers. If you want more power for rock/metal, go Gibson. If you want shred, go Ibanez. If you want country or rockabilly, consider Gretsch. If you want a Jazz box then you can go hollow body with a Gibson ES335. Figure $600.00 to $3000.00. Btw, Fenders are the best bargain too.

This is such a question of taste, and also subject to what kind of music you are playing.
For electrics, the best (and most popular) are Gibson, Fender, Ibanez, Paul Reed Smith, Yamaha, Peavey, Carvin, Rickenbacker, Gretch, and Epiphone (could go on and on).
For acoustics, the best are Martin, Gibson, Takamine, Taylor, Seagull, Yamaha, Guild, Alvarez, Ibanez, Washburn.
For basses, Fender, Ibanez, Rickenbacker, Lackland, Musicman, Peavey, Yamaha.
Best luck and let me know what you choose. Provide more information too. Basically any good instrument is OK for any kind of music.

you cant tell what is the best electric guitar in the world as it is strongly related to each person taste, and what they'd like their guitar to sound, for example a metal guitarrist would say a jackson, a jazz guitarrist a jazz guitar. and besides from the sound you have to feel comfortable playing the guitar, for example i prefer les pauls as it has a bigger neck. what respects to electroacoustic guitars, they all suck in my opinion, i prefer classical guitars

Lead.... Fender Stratocaster, Gibson Les Paul Custom.

Rythm.... Fender Telecaster, Gibson SG

Acoustic.... Gibson J45

It depends... however, you can't go wrong with Gibsons (for electric), though make sure to buy a good one (if you're gonna splurge, then do it well!). Acoustics there are a lot of good ones; I have an Ibanez that i absolutely love, but IMO Taylors are the best acoustic guitars. Bass, go with Fenders...or H?fners, if you're willing to spend a lot (the H?fners, IMO, are the best).

Check out Larriver and Washburn for acoustic.
For elecitric try Leigh
