What's the difference between a bansuri and a cane flute?

Question:I know it sounds ridiculous, but I can't find anywhere that says exactly what cane is.
I know a bansuri is made of bamboo, but I don't know if this is the same thing as cane.
Is cane its own plant?

Cane is a class of grass that grows with woody, hollow stalks.

Bamboo, Sugar, Rattan, and some palms are canes. Rivercane is used in North America often.

A "bamboo flute" would be made from bamboo cane, a "cane flute" could be bamboo or any other cane.
