Ave Maria is especially beautiful for Christmastime. If you'll have the choir backing you up, "O Come O Come Emmanuel" or "O Night Divine" are always powerful. Depending on your age and abilities, "Silent Night," "What Child is This?", or "O Come All Ye Faithful" are all great for solos.

I don't know if you have to stick to religious stuff, but if you can do general Christmas songs, "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" or "Silver Bells" are nice, too.

Most Christmas songs are gorgeous anyway, so whatever you pick will most likely sound wonderful. Good luck!

Silent night was always my fav.

jingle bells

Oh Holy Night. If you have a great voice and can pull it off. I've heard it sung by an opera singer and it was BEAUTIFUL.

"Barbara Allen" ... sing it holding a Wreath.

Silent night is one of my personal favourites, or Deck the Halls if you want a faster, more catchy tune.

Think back to childhood. Was there a carol you used to sing when you were in kindergarten? If you choose one that has a personal meaning to you, you will not only remembe the carol and words, it will also come off well to the audience. Mine is once in royal david's city. Remember - notes are just ink on the page, music is what you do with them. Hope this helps. Matt

Ever been to the library. Visit any of the Libraries around you and ask the librarian this Question. He will definitely be happy to assist.

Personal favourite is The Holly and the Ivy -
if you choose it I'll be sorry to miss it. But
hope it all goes well.

I remember hearing 'Frosty the Snowman' byt Jackson Five.
I can't remember how it goes, but I remember that I thought it was pretty cool =).
Give it a listen on YouTube or somewhere.
Otherwise, there's always the usual ones like 'Jingle Bell Rock' etc.
Goodluck with your choir performance =)

Silent Night...............It's a favorite of many. And it makes me cry..a happy cry... everytime I hear it. Especially if it were a solo at church. Good luck and have fun.

Silent Night

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

"The Angel Gabriel". It gets away from the regular run of hackneyed songs and tunes, and I'm sure you will enjoy learning and singing it. The audience will love it.

Where are you Christmas by faith hill

"O Holy Night" is really the ne plus ultra of showy Christmas Carols. If you're looking for something more secular and less religious, there's "Do You Hear What I Hear". That has the advantage of a lot of dynamic and dramatic range. And for pure schmaltz, there's always "Silver Bells".

"In the Bleak Midwinter," the tune by Gustav Holst, and words by Christina Rosetti.
