Two questions about electric guitar?

Question:I have a Fender Squier, not that I think that's going to matter. Just thought I'd throw it out there in case. :)

I desperately need to change the strings on my guitar, but have never done it before. I know how and everything, I'm just unsure of one thing. Can I change them all at once (as in take them all off, clean my guitar, and then put them back on) or should I do them one at a time?

And what exactly is the purpose of a string winder? I know that's stupid, but I just want to be entirely certain that I understand.

Yeah. Take them all off. Give the guitar a good clean and polish, then put the new ones on. A string winder just slips over the tuning machine to wind it up into tune quicker. Hope this helps.

Change them all at once.

The string winder is a simple crank that you attach to the tuning pegs to quickly and easily tighten the strings.

take them all off (hardest part) and clean that baby up.............

then you buy new strings and you slip em through the hole and up the neck into the knob and the winder is basically an easier way to twist the knob very quickly...... its easy i recomend cutting strings after you put em on and not before
