Question:I intend to compete in a grade ten piano concerto competition but Im not sure what concerto to choose. This will be my first concerto and I am currently working on RCM Grade 10 Repotoire.

Don't consider: the Tschaikowsky B-flat minor; the Grieg A-minor, nor any of the Rachmaninoff.

I would recommend Beethoven's 2nd, or the Schumann A-minor. They are both relatively easy to learn and play.

Sorry, but I forgot to add 2 formidable "warhorses" to the don't attempt list, unless you're an accomplished pianist. These are both of the Brahms concerti. They also call for an extreme reach between thumbs and fingers.
