Any good ideas for a song to sing as a solo for a chorus show?

Question:I want something that is older and a classic. And I'd like it to be by a man because that was I won't be expected to sound just like the original artist. Something along the lines of The Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, David Bowie, etc...

Why not do a classic song by Elvis? No one would expect that. A good choice for a chorus show would be, "If I Can Dream." Below are a link to the video on youtube and to the lyrics. It's one of my favorites. The second youtube link is with Celine Dion.
