Why does Galinda change her name to Glinda in Wicked?

Question:Doctor Dillamond prounounced her name Glinda and she changed it as a tribute to him. She could also have changed it to seem sensitive and sweet and get Fiyero's attention back because she changed it when Fiyero was ignoring her and giving Elphaba flowers etc.
