I'm assuming you want to play rock and roll / pop guitar music.
If so, you should first learn E. It has a shape to it. Once you know that one, You can play all the other major and minor ones simply by changing your position and/or the starting note. Don't even begin to think about modal music yet (mixolydian etc...) you'll get there in time. Remember the most important thing is to practice/learn a little bit EVERY day and to play slowly until you gain accuracy and then begin to speed up. And get a metronome.

Major:
C, F, G, A... maybe D

all major, minor (natural, harmonic, and melodic). This will give you a good base to learn other really weird ones like mixolydian, lydian, phrygian etc...
