Position:Home>Performing Arts> Do you think that ANYBODY could become a singer?

Question:I've realized that you don't have to have a good voice in order to be a singer, there are many singers who have terrible voices yet they are successful and they have a big fan base. Who agrees?

I agree totaly. Having good pitch is important but now days even that can be corrected. Let's face it, Van Morrison isn't for every ear & neither is Jim Morrison - but to me they are both good singers - and to millions of others as well. Brittany is NOT my idea of a good singer but she too does quite well. Developing your own thing which catches on is the one individual thing that I believe all singers should really try for.

But you have to be able to hold a tune. My husband certainly couldnt become a singer.

Hey if Enrique Iglesias can do it anyone can.

No, if you do NOT have the innate talent for something, you are NOT going to make it.

well did you know you only dreamed that if any1 can join full world will sing there is not competition

no. it depends like how bad you want it and are you serious or you just want money

if u have the look and voice, yeah

I agree 100%.

Yes, there are so many good singers that I personally know and have never been able to become famous and "get noticed" but then I see people like Britney Spear, Avril Lavinge, etc. who cannot seeing worth a crap and yet they gain recognition because of...what? "Attitudes"?

I don't think a deaf person could become a singer, though there are several blind ones.

You have to have songs that people can connect to then people will like you even if you seen horribly. I think today a hobo could become a singer in his rags

That's a weird subject....look at Janis Joplin...she certainly didn't have a good voice but we all loved her....especially Bobby McGee... Willy Nelson is another one...but we all love him !!!!!! And I never thought that Frank Sinatra was all that great....some people will be horrified and boo me when they hear me say that...but that's the way I feel. Like you say lots of people don't have great voices but there's something about their voices that get to us...Now me...birds die in midair when I sing and I don't think any amount of training would do me any good....but there are lots of people with training can become good singers...so you never can tell
