You need to start with a smaller agent and then get better ones as you do more work.

You just don't start out with the best agent in town.

If a well-known agent or agency hasn't ever heard of you, you won't ever get past the phones with them.

Check out Variety and look for a smaller one that MIGHT take you on.

Ask friends in the acting bussiness. Whatever you do, DON'T SEARCH THE INTERNET FOR ONE. It's the worst place for scams. Speaking of scams, be very cautious and meet up with a couple before making a decision. Do not do it in a rush.
