Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Were they famous violin composers??

While Bach wrote mainly church and keyboard music during the Baroque period, his un-accompanied Partitas and Sonotas for violin are known for their difficulty and beauty. I would suggest the recording by Rachel Podger who plays in the Baroque style on a period instrument. His Brandenburg Suite is really for many instruments (practically a small orchestra) but for whatever reason people call them 'violin' pieces. Bach's concertos are also wonderful and very enjoyable to play. His Double Concerto for two violins (also known as the Bach Double) is one of his most famous and popular works to date. It is a blast to play!

Beethoven wrote one violin concerto that had a rather dismal premiere and was not revived again for some time. He mostly wrote for piano and ensebles such as quartets and orchestra. His symphonies are considered to be standard works for any orchestra and are known for their awesome string parts. He also wrote two Romances for violin which are quite beautiful.

Any professional violinist would have Bach's Partitas, Sonotas, and Concertos in their repertoire along with Beethoven's Concerto and Romances. These peices are standard violin repertoire.

Bach is a Baroque composer and I guess the most famous violin tunes he did would be the Brandenburg Concertos and Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring.
Beethoven was a Classical composer who brought the Romantic Period in with his Ninth Symphony. I'm not familiar with his "violin" concertos, but his symphonies are exceptional and have great string parts.
And, they both played violin, although keyboards were their main instruments.

"M" Y dont you search for them at www.wikipedia.com? You can read a lot bout these guys

Yeah, kind of. Bach was a famous Church Organist, who wrote a ton of music for every instrument he could find: organ, piano, violin, recorder, lute....
Beethoven, a few decades later, was a famous composer of Symphonies, which feature the violin in the full orchestra. Beethoven also wrote Violin Concerto, and Choral Work.
