i play trombone and i play bass trombone for my high school jazz band. i have never heard that term.

Tell the music teacher that this guy is distracting you. Believe it or not, this 11th grader is just another student and he has no more rights or authority than you do.

Tell your teacher that this guy is being annoying.

oooh yah i know what you mean. it's annoying. and that was a REALLY mean and rude thing for him to say. but i've found that the best thing to do is take the advice! i mean, it can only help you get better, and the nicer you are about it, the nicer he will be about it. if he's in 11th grade and is coming to your middle school jazz band, he's probably there to do just that - correct your mistakes and teach you new stuff.

there is turn in music but no twist. its actually an ornament represented by a s that has been rotated 90 degrees. example. if there is a turn on a c note that is one count, you play dcbd equally in one count. its quite hard to explain but you can look at this website under turns.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ornament_(m...

and try to learn other ornaments so that next time when you encounter other ornaments you can play it.

Are you typing this right? twist&&turn? I have no idea what that is, I am very musical but I dont play the bone.

Just stand up for yourself or tell the teacher he is being a douche.
