Does musical talent really exists?You get born with it or it's just hard wor

Question:I am curious about this, can every people get to play an instrument or just those who are born with a musical talent?
I have been trying to play guitar for like 2 years and I still suck. I had 6 guitar lessons with a teacher and i managed to learn Jeux Interdits and Habanera, but after that i quit taking lessons because of the $$$ it implyed. Since then i have been trying to learn alone, on the internet, but it works very hard, i think i just don't have the talent needed... what's your opinon?

I think that anyone can do anything if they put their mind to it. Some people, however, are just born with a better ear for music (ie if you have "perfect pitch.") Singers can be born with a good voice, but you need teaching to get the voice "out of the rough" so to speak. For you, it is much easier to learn off the internet if you have at least a little bit of musical background and know what scales are, how to tune, ect. I'd say just keep working, no one is good at the very beginning. A private teacher will DEFINITLY help though. I can see what you are saying about the $$$$, but maybe you have a friend who can help you out?

Most people can learn to play an instrument with the right instruction. If you can't afford lessons, go to the music store and ask if they have any books for guitar where you can teach yourself - there are lots of them out there. You might also check into group lessons - some teachers will do that for a reduced rate.

While talent can make one exceptional at something, you can get good enough with determination and practice to have fun and enjoy your guitar. Good luck!

Both. Some people are born with a better natural talent for music. Especially composers and singers. But even an average person can achieve what they wish.

In your case only 6 lessons and you learned a song is very good. Keep doing what you are doing and over time you will progress and get better.

Keep enjoying your guitar its not about talent its about love.

I believe that everyone has that talent somewhere, it just takes a little determination. You could try a different instrument.
