Does anyone on this site sing opera?

Question:I am in the opera bussiness, and I maybe going to grad school in a year. I wanted to see if there were any Opera singers out there that knows about the bussiness. Thanks

I used to, and I took lessons from a professional opera singer. He had a doctorate and was pretty successful before he quit to teach.

It is a tough business. I am a stage manager now, and opera singers take a lot of patience to deal with. Keep that in mind as you go into the biz--don't let your fellow opera singers get you down!

No, but I'm a high school student taking voice lessons from an opera/classical singer. We're working on can belto now instead of bel canto.. But since I'm so extremely amateur, I haven't a clue about show biz, sorry.

Not professionally, I do occasionally when I'm in the shower though. That probably doesn't help you though. I'm sorry.
