Ignore the last poster, "Tribute" and "Africa Hot" are both extremely advanced solos.

The answer you seek depends upon the type of situation in which you will be performing. You are probably looking for either a concert or marching/rudimental style solo.

If you are looking for a concert solo, I would suggest two books, both by William J. Schinstine. They are "Southern Special" and "Futuristic Drum Solos". Both books are collections of concert snare solos. "Southern Special" contains easy-medium hard solos and "Futuristic Drum Solos" contains medium to hard solos. I think that both of these books would make an excellent addition to anyone's library, so you really have nothing to lose if you buy them both. Of course, these aren't the only concert snare solo collections, but in my opinion, they're two of the best. You can find these books at www.sheetmusicplus.com

If you are looking for marching style solos, you can probably find something to your liking in "The Rudimental Cookbook" by Edward Freytag, available from Row-Loff productions (www.rowloff.com). It contains marching snare solos from very easy to very advanced and everything in between. Like I stated above, there are other marching snare solo compilations available, but this is one of the best.

Good luck, and happy drumming!
