HELP! How is the F7 guitar chord played correctly?

Question:Does the F7 guitar chord start at the first fret in standard tuning? So in this order from the first fret-

String 1- 1st fret
String 2- 1st fret
String 3- 2nd fret
String 4- 1st fret
String 5- 3rd fret
String 6- open

IS THIS RIGHT? does it start from the first fret?

Looks like the F7 chord you're trying to play is the bar chord where your 1st finger frets all the strings at the first fret. The sixth string would be played at the first fret instead of open.

The first response is correct. There are additional chord formations for F7 that are easy to form. They are:

58786X
and
XX 10 10 10 11

Dan, this is correct for F7, except for the string-6, should be the 1st fret also!
F7 is one of the harder chords to play, there are easier ways to make an F7 chord!
Here is the one I use=
str-1=1st fret--index finger
str-2=4th fret--little finger(pinkie)
str-3=2nd fret--middle finger
str-4=3rd fret--3rd finger
str-5=x
str-6=x

I've watched a lot of guitar players play, that's where I got it from!
