I can tell that you haven't been playing long....your trying to do too much too soon. Use your first four frets and four fingers. In the first fret count one with your first finger, two with the second, three with the third, and four with the fourth....do this up and down all six strings.... Then start over only this time stay in the first position and use your second finger and count two, three, four, one, then start again on the same string and count, three, four, one, two, then do four, three two one.....and then do this backwards, counting four, three, two, one, ....do this up and down all six strings.....making sure that your thumb is in the middle of the back of the neck....keeping your fingers perpendicular to the finger board.....don't over do this...work up to doing it to the point of where your not tiring out your hand or fingers, this really works on stretching out your muscles....when your ready move to the second position etc....and start over....I hope this isn't to confusing....it's easier to show someone how to do this rather then explain it in writing....good luck....this should work for you as long as you don't over do and work up to being able to do this comfortably !!!
One thing that helps me is pulling my left elbow toward my body more. This naturally makes your little finger easier to use. Your thumb in turn 'lowers' on the back of the neck and even though you may have small hands (as I do) it gives you more to work with, it takes a little time but keep at it!
